Voicy costs $8.49 a month, $82 a year, or $260 once for a Lifetime license, after a free trial with 30 minutes of recording. Teams pay $6.79 per user per month, and students and people with disabilities get 20% off. That's Voicy's price in one paragraph, as of October 2026.
Below is every plan, what the free trial actually includes, the discounts and the fine print, and what Voicy costs over three years next to LumeVoice and three other dictation apps. A disclosure first: LumeVoice is our product. We haven't used Voicy ourselves, so everything here comes from Voicy's pricing page, policies, help center and app store listings, checked on October 20, 2026.

Prices as of October 2026, from Voicy's pricing page, the FAQ on its home page, Voicy for Teams and the App Store listing.
A few things the table doesn't show:
- The pricing page opens on monthly billing. Pro shows as $8.49 a month, with an "Annual" switch marked "20% off". Flip it and Pro becomes $82 a year. Voicy's own FAQ gives the same two numbers.
- One purchase covers every Voicy app. According to its help center, a single plan unlocks the desktop, browser and mobile apps; you don't pay per device or per platform.
- You upgrade inside the app. Voicy's upgrade guide sends you to the desktop app, where an Upgrade button sits under your recording-time bar.
- Voicy publishes a "fair pricing policy". It says its price will never be more than 20% above its total costs. That's a commitment from Voicy rather than something customers can verify, but it's an unusual one to make in public.
Is Voicy free?#
No, Voicy isn't free, but you can try it without paying. New accounts get a free trial with 30 minutes of recording time, and no credit card is needed to start. Voicy says it doesn't offer a permanent free tier because each transcription costs it money.
The details, from Voicy's help center:
- Your remaining time shows in the app, under Free recording time on the Home screen. Voicy warns that signing out or reinstalling doesn't reset the allowance.
- File transcription needs a paid plan, so you can't test it during the trial.
- When the 30 minutes are used up, Voicy shows you the paid options.
Thirty minutes of talking produces more text than most people expect, so spend it on real work, such as the emails, notes and messages you'd normally type, rather than test sentences.
Monthly vs yearly: what "20% off" means#
Paying monthly costs $8.49 × 12 = $101.88 a year. The yearly plan is $82, a saving of $19.88, or about 19.5%, which Voicy rounds to 20%. Spread over the year, that's about $6.83 a month.
The crossover comes quickly. Nine monthly payments add up to $76.41; the tenth takes you to $84.90, past the price of a full year. So if you expect to use Voicy for ten months or more, the yearly plan is cheaper. If you're unsure whether dictation will stick, a month or two of monthly billing is the lower-risk way to find out.
Voicy Lifetime: $260, or $219.99 on iPhone#
Voicy's Lifetime plan costs $260 once on its website and includes the same features as Pro: unlimited recording, unlimited personal devices, and the desktop and mobile apps.
There's a second price worth knowing about. In the US App Store, Voicy's iPhone app lists a Lifetime plan at $219.99 as an in-app purchase, next to Pro Monthly at $8.49 and Pro Yearly at $82.00 (App Store listing). Voicy's help center says one purchase covers its desktop, browser and mobile apps, but the App Store listing doesn't spell out whether an iPhone purchase unlocks the desktop apps. If that's your plan, ask Voicy before you buy.
Is Lifetime worth it? It depends on how long you'll keep dictating:
- Against the yearly plan, $260 ÷ $82 ≈ 3.2, so Lifetime only comes out ahead in your fourth year.
- Against monthly billing, $260 ÷ $8.49 ≈ 31, so Lifetime is cheaper after about 31 months.
- At the App Store price, $219.99 beats three years of yearly billing ($246).
If you're confident you'll still be using Voicy in three or four years, Lifetime makes sense. If not, the yearly plan keeps your options open.
Discounts: students, disability and referrals#
Voicy has two discount programs, and both are generous in one important way: neither asks for proof.
- Disability discount: 20% off all plans. You email Voicy's founder with a one-line request and get a code back. Voicy says the program runs on trust (disability discount), and its security policy, last updated in July 2025, says it doesn't collect health or disability documentation.
- Student discount: 20% off all plans, through the same email-for-a-code process, again with no proof (student discount).
- Referrals. Voicy's app has a Give & Get Rewards page with a personal invite link, and its changelog describes earning free months of Pro by inviting friends (refer a friend).
If the 20% code applies to every plan, as Voicy's pages say, Pro works out to about $6.79 a month, $65.60 a year or $208 for Lifetime.
For comparison, LumeVoice gives students and teachers 50% off (email hello@lumevoice.com from a school address, or attach proof of enrollment) and gives 50% off to anyone who finds typing hard because of a disability, injury or health condition, with no proof needed. With the accessibility code, LumeVoice Pro is $7.49 a month or $39.99 a year. See student pricing and the accessibility discount.
Voicy for Teams#
Voicy for Teams costs $6.79 per user per month, with a minimum of three users, so at least $20.37 a month, or $244.44 a year for three people. It includes unlimited recording, the desktop and mobile apps, and priority support. There's no self-serve checkout: the Contact Us button books a call with Voicy, and team members can use the free trial before you decide (Voicy for Teams).
That's low for a team plan. As of October 2026, Wispr Flow's Pro plan for teams is $12 per user per month on annual billing, and Aqua Voice's Business plan is $19 per seat per month on annual billing. LumeVoice doesn't sell a team plan.
Comparing Prices? Compare the Writing Too
LumeVoice turns your speech into clean text in whatever app you're using, on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android.
- Cleanup as you talk: filler words and stutters removed, self-corrections applied, spoken lists turned into lists.
- 100 languages, detected automatically.
- Pricing: $14.99/mo, $79.99/year or $249 once, with 50% off for students and 50% off for accessibility.
- The tradeoff: it needs an internet connection, and there's no Linux app or browser extension.
Every new account starts with 3,000 free words, no card required.

Voicy prices as of October 2026; discounted figures assume the 20% code applies as Voicy describes.
Over three years, the yearly plan is the cheapest way to buy Voicy on its website: $246, against $260 for Lifetime and $305.64 month to month. Lifetime only pulls ahead in year four. The exception is the App Store's $219.99 Lifetime, which is the lowest three-year cost in the table without a discount.
The fine print#
These details sit in Voicy's policies and help center rather than on the pricing page:
- Fair use. Unlimited plans come with a fair use policy. Voicy's privacy policy says it's meant to affect only the top 0.1% of users and currently starts above 40 hours of transcription a month.
- Devices. The pricing page lists unlimited personal devices, while the same policy page reserves the right to close accounts that are used on more than two devices. If you plan to run Voicy on several computers, it's worth asking Voicy how it applies that rule.
- Refunds. Voicy offers a full refund if you cancel your subscription within 7 days of purchase (refund policy).
- File transcription. Paid plans only, up to 60 minutes per file. Finished transcripts are cleared from the app after three days, so download the ones you want to keep (transcribe a file).
- Offline mode isn't a paid add-on. The pricing page lists no separate charge for the desktop offline mode that arrived in version 3.0 on October 12, 2026 (changelog).
- Canceling. Use Manage account in the Voicy app. Uninstalling, signing out or deleting your history doesn't stop billing (manage your subscription).

Prices as of October 2026, from each vendor's pricing page; vendors change them, so check before you buy.
On list prices, Voicy is one of the cheaper paid dictation apps. Its monthly price matches Superwhisper's, and its yearly price is below Superwhisper's, Aqua Voice's and Wispr Flow's. Next to LumeVoice, Voicy is cheaper month to month ($8.49 against $14.99); on yearly billing it's $82 against $79.99/year, and for a one-time license it's $260 (or $219.99 in the App Store) against $249.
Discounts change the picture more than list prices do. For students, Aqua Voice takes 70% off and LumeVoice 50% off. For people who find typing hard because of a disability, LumeVoice's 50% off brings its yearly plan to $39.99, against about $65.60 for Voicy's yearly plan with its 20% code.
Price also isn't the only difference. Voicy and Superwhisper can work offline (Voicy on Mac, Windows and Linux; Superwhisper with local models), only Voicy has a Linux app and a browser extension, and LumeVoice and Wispr Flow need an internet connection. Our LumeVoice vs Voicy comparison covers the features side by side.
Is Voicy worth the money?#
Voicy is good value if you:
- dictate on Linux, or need a browser extension
- want offline dictation on Windows or Linux as well as Mac
- are equipping a small team and want a low per-seat price
- prefer to pay monthly: $8.49 is among the lowest monthly prices in this category
- qualify for the disability discount and value a program that has asked for no proof since at least 2025
Look elsewhere if you:
- want a free plan you can keep: Wispr Flow's free plan or Superwhisper's free tier last indefinitely; Voicy's trial ends after 30 minutes
- are a student: larger discounts exist, such as 70% at Aqua Voice and 50% off at LumeVoice
- dictate in a language outside Voicy's 50-plus (25 in offline mode)
- want self-corrections cleaned up automatically ("five, actually six" becomes "six"), which LumeVoice does and Voicy's help center doesn't describe
The bottom line#
Voicy's pricing is simple and, on list price, low: $8.49 a month, $82 a year, $260 once, or $6.79 per user per month for teams of three or more. The 30-minute trial is long enough for a real test, and the 20% discounts need no paperwork. Pay yearly if you'll use it for ten months or more, and consider Lifetime only if you expect to still be dictating in year four.
The bigger questions are about fit rather than price. If you need Linux, a browser extension or offline dictation, Voicy is worth its price. If you don't, compare how much editing each app leaves you with, because that's what you'll pay for in time every day. Our Voicy review and list of Voicy alternatives can help you decide.
