Prices as of October 2026, from Willow's pricing page and its App Store listing.

A few things the table doesn't show:

  • Annual is the headline price. Pro is shown as $15 crossed out beside $12 a month, and a toggle says annual billing saves 20%.
  • iPhone prices match. In the US App Store, Willow's app lists Pro at $15.00 a month and its annual plan at $143.99.
  • One subscription covers every device, as long as you sign in with the same email and the same sign-in method (Google, Apple or email). Mac purchases go through Stripe and iPhone purchases through Apple (upgrading to Willow Pro).

Is Willow Voice free?#

Yes, Willow has a real free plan, not just a trial. Basic needs no credit card and gives unlimited dictation, with three limits:

  • A lighter model. Free dictation runs on Frontier Mini, which Willow itself describes as its weaker speech-to-text model. Pro uses Frontier Pro.
  • 20 Scribe uses a week. Scribe is Willow's AI writer: you describe what you want to say and it drafts the text, or you select text and tell it how to change it.
  • 5 minutes per dictation, against 8 minutes on paid plans, according to Willow's help center.

One caution: Willow's own pages don't all agree yet. The App Store description says you "start free with a weekly word limit", and a plan chart in Willow's help center, dated July 2026, lists 2,000 words a week on Free. Go by what the app shows you on each device.

Monthly vs yearly: what "save 20%" means#

Paying monthly costs $15 × 12 = $180 a year. The yearly plan is $144, a saving of $36, or exactly 20%.

Nine monthly payments add up to $135; the tenth takes you to $150, past the price of a full year. So if you expect to use Willow for ten months or more, the yearly plan is cheaper. If you're not sure dictation will stick, start with Basic, then try a month of Pro.

What Pro adds#

Willow's pricing page and help center list these Pro features:

  • The Frontier Pro model, with faster, priority transcription
  • A memory of your writing style that adapts over time
  • Unlimited Scribe for drafting, replying and rewriting by voice
  • Longer dictations: 8 minutes per session instead of 5
  • Offline dictation, which Willow's help center lists under Pro; its blog says offline mode runs on Mac and iOS, not Windows (Willow's offline guide)
  • Priority support and early access to new features

If you send a few short messages a day and never use Scribe, Basic may be enough. For long emails and documents, the 5-minute cap and the lighter model are the reasons to upgrade.

Discounts, referrals and the Switch Program#

  • 30% off Pro for students, educators, nonprofit staff and volunteers, and active-duty military and veterans. You email Willow's support team with proof of eligibility and get a promo code for checkout (Willow discount codes). With 30% off, Pro works out to $10.50 a month, or about $100.80 a year if the code applies to annual billing.
  • Referrals. Every user gets a referral link. When a friend upgrades through it, you both get a free month of Pro; on a yearly plan, Willow credits you $15 instead (Willow referrals).
  • Switch Program. If you already pay yearly for another dictation app, Willow gives you Pro free until that plan runs out. You send the receipt or renewal email, and it applies to annual plans only (Switch Program).

Willow doesn't list a discount for people with disabilities. For comparison, LumeVoice gives students and teachers 50% off (email hello@lumevoice.com from a school address, or attach proof of enrollment) and gives 50% off to anyone who finds typing hard because of a disability, injury or health condition, with no proof needed. With the accessibility code, LumeVoice Pro is $7.49 a month or $39.99 a year. See student pricing and the accessibility discount.

Business and Enterprise#

Willow's pricing page lists Business at $35 a month, or $28 a month billed annually. Pro is shown per user; Business is shown per month with no seat count, so ask Willow how it's billed before you budget for a team. Business adds enforced privacy mode with zero data retention, SOC 2 Type II, enforced HIPAA support and admin controls, and team features include a shared dictionary, shared shortcuts and a management dashboard.

Enterprise is custom, with no seat minimum, according to Willow's enterprise page. It adds single sign-on, user provisioning (SCIM), invoice or PO billing, an MSA and DPA, usage dashboards and an API, and dedicated support.

A help-center overview dated July 2026 still describes an older Team Pro plan at $12 per user per month with a three-seat minimum, which the pricing page no longer shows.

For comparison, as of October 2026, Wispr Flow's Pro plan works for teams at $12 per user per month billed annually, and Aqua Voice's Business plan is $19 per seat per month billed annually. LumeVoice doesn't sell a team plan.

Would You Rather Pay Once?

LumeVoice turns your speech into clean text in whatever app you're using, on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android.

  • Cleanup as you talk: filler words and stutters removed, self-corrections applied, spoken lists turned into lists.
  • Pricing: $14.99/mo, $79.99/year or $249 once, with 50% off for students and teachers and 50% off for accessibility.
  • One plan covers every device, Android included.
  • The tradeoff: it needs an internet connection, and there's no AI writer like Scribe and no team plan.

Every new account starts with 3,000 free words, no card required.

Willow prices as of October 2026; the discounted row assumes the code applies to yearly billing.

Willow is subscription-only, so year three costs the same as year one. The cheapest route is the free Basic plan, if its limits work for you.

The fine print#

These details sit in Willow's help center and terms rather than on the pricing page:

  • Canceling. On a Mac, open Settings, then Manage Billing, enter the email you bought with, and cancel in Stripe's portal. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Either way, your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period (managing your Willow subscription).
  • Refunds. Willow's pricing page, terms of service and help center don't describe a refund policy. The terms say subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
  • Syncing Pro. If Pro doesn't show up on your second device, check that you used the same email and the same sign-in method on both.
  • Android. There's no Android app yet; Willow's download page lists it as coming soon.

Prices as of October 2026, from each vendor's pricing page; vendors change them, so check before you buy.

On list prices, Willow sits at the top of this group with Wispr Flow: both charge $15 a month or $144 a year for Pro. Superwhisper and Aqua Voice cost less per year, and LumeVoice is $79.99/year or $249 once. Where Willow stands out is its free plan: no word limit, which only Superwhisper's local-model free plan matches here.

Price isn't everything. Willow has an offline mode on Mac and iPhone, which LumeVoice and Wispr Flow lack; Superwhisper can run offline on Mac, Windows and iPhone. Willow has no Android app yet, while the other four do; LumeVoice runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android on one plan. Our LumeVoice vs Willow Voice comparison covers the features side by side.

Is Willow Voice worth the money?#

Willow Pro is good value if you:

  • use Scribe every day to draft and rewrite messages
  • want offline dictation on a Mac or iPhone
  • dictate long pieces where the free plan's 5-minute cap gets in the way
  • qualify for 30% off as a student, educator, nonprofit worker or veteran
  • need a team plan with SOC 2 and HIPAA support

Look elsewhere if you:

  • dictate on Android
  • would rather pay once than subscribe
  • are a student looking for the biggest discount: Aqua Voice takes 70% off, LumeVoice 50% off, and Wispr Flow gives 3 months free and then 50% off
  • mostly send short messages: the free Basic plan may be all you need

The bottom line#

Willow's pricing is simple for individuals: free Basic, or Pro at $15 a month or $144 a year, with 30% off for students, educators, nonprofits and veterans. Team pricing is less clear, with a $35 Business plan on the pricing page and an older per-user Team plan still in the help center, so get a quote. Pay yearly if you'll use Pro for ten months or more.

The bigger questions are about fit: Android (not yet), offline mode (Mac and iPhone only), and whether you'll use Scribe enough to pay for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Willow Voice free?

Yes, there's a free plan. Willow's Basic plan costs nothing and needs no credit card. As of October 2026, its pricing page lists unlimited dictation on Frontier Mini, which Willow calls its weaker speech model, plus limited personalization and 20 Scribe uses a week. Each free dictation can run up to 5 minutes. Pro adds the stronger Frontier Pro model, unlimited Scribe, 8-minute dictations and, according to Willow's help center, offline dictation.

How much is Willow Voice per year?

Willow Pro is $144 a year on annual billing, which works out to $12 a month. In the iPhone app, the US App Store lists the annual plan at $143.99. Paying monthly instead costs $15 a month, or $180 over a year, so the yearly plan saves $36. With Willow's 30% discount for students, educators, nonprofits and veterans, the yearly plan would be about $100.80, if the code applies to annual billing.

Does Willow Voice have a lifetime plan?

No. Willow sells Pro only as a monthly or yearly subscription, plus Business and Enterprise plans for teams. Over three years, Pro costs $432 on yearly billing or $540 paid monthly. If you'd rather pay once, LumeVoice sells a Lifetime license for $249, and Superwhisper and Voicy also sell one-time licenses.

Does Willow Voice have a student discount?

Yes. Willow gives 30% off Pro to students, educators, nonprofit staff and volunteers, and active-duty military and veterans. You email its support team with proof, such as a student ID, an enrollment letter or an email from your school's domain, and it sends a promo code to use at checkout. LumeVoice gives students and teachers 50% off, and anyone who finds typing hard 50% off, with no proof needed for the accessibility discount.

Can I get a refund from Willow Voice?

Willow doesn't publish a refund policy on its pricing page, in its terms or in its help center. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you've paid for. Mac subscriptions are billed through Stripe and canceled from Manage Billing in the app; iPhone subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancellations and refund requests for those go through Apple. If refunds matter to you, ask Willow's support before you buy.

How much does Willow cost for a team?

Willow's pricing page lists Business at $35 a month, or $28 a month billed annually, without saying how seats are counted. It adds enforced privacy mode with zero data retention, SOC 2 Type II and enforced HIPAA support. Enterprise is custom and adds single sign-on, invoicing, an MSA and DPA, usage dashboards and dedicated support. Willow's help center still describes an older Team Pro plan at $12 per user per month, so ask sales for a quote.
