Typeless costs $12 a month if you pay for a year up front ($144), or $30 a month if you pay month to month. The Free plan has a weekly word limit, which Typeless puts at 8,000 words, Enterprise is priced on request, and students get 50% off Pro. That's Typeless's pricing in one paragraph, as of October 2026.
Below is every plan, what the free tier includes, the discounts and the fine print, and what Typeless costs over three years next to LumeVoice and three other dictation apps. A disclosure first: LumeVoice is our product. We haven't used Typeless, so everything here comes from its pricing page, help center, policies and app store listings, checked on October 20, 2026.

Prices as of October 2026, from Typeless's pricing page.
A few things the table doesn't show:
- Prices are per member. Typeless pitches Pro at "power users and small teams". Adding a member uses an open seat or adds a new one, with a prorated charge for the rest of the billing cycle.
- You upgrade inside the app, from the Upgrade button in the left sidebar. Enterprise goes through Typeless's sales team.
- Payment. On its website, Typeless takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, and Enterprise customers can pay by invoice. Its terms name Stripe, Apple and Google as payment processors (Typeless terms).
- One subscription covers your devices. Typeless's App Store listing says Pro works wherever Typeless is supported once you sign in, and Typeless supports Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android.
Is Typeless free?#
Yes, Typeless has a free plan, and it's one of the more generous ones among cloud dictation apps. Every new account starts on it, and the allowance refills each week.
How big is it? The pricing page says only "limited words" each week. Typeless's own Typeless vs Wispr Flow article, published in August 2026, gives the number: 8,000 words a week. That's about 1,600 words per working day, enough for a good stack of emails and messages. Wispr Flow's free plan, for comparison, allows 2,000 words a week on desktop.
What Free leaves out matters as much as the word count:
- Standard accuracy. Pro is listed with "enhanced accuracy"; Free gets "standard". Typeless doesn't explain the difference.
- Standard access during high demand. When demand is high, Pro users get priority access and Free users get standard access.
- No Cloud Sync. Free keeps your history on your device only.
Most features are included, though: Translate, Ask anything, personalization, the personal dictionary and per-app tones are all on the Free plan. The pricing page doesn't advertise a trial of Pro, so the free plan is effectively the trial. Spend it on real work rather than test sentences.
Monthly vs yearly: why the gap is so large#
Most dictation apps take about 20% off for paying yearly. Typeless's monthly billing costs two and a half times as much as its yearly plan:
- Monthly: $30 × 12 = $360 a year
- Yearly: $144 a year, or $12 a month
The crossover comes fast. Four monthly payments come to $120; the fifth takes you to $150, past the price of a full year. If you expect to use Typeless for five months or more, yearly billing is cheaper. The catch is the refund policy (see the fine print below): once you've paid for a year, don't count on getting money back, so use the free plan first.
Phone purchases add a loose end. In the US App Store, the iPhone app lists Typeless Pro in-app purchases at $30.00, $60.00 and $143.99, without saying what each covers (App Store listing), and Typeless's referral FAQ mentions a Quarterly plan that the pricing page doesn't show. Check what an option renews at before you tap Buy.
Discounts: students, referrals and gift cards#
- Students: 50% off Pro. Sign in with your school email to verify, or email Typeless from it and get a coupon code. The discount is "valid for Desktop checkout only" and is for anyone who hasn't subscribed to Pro before. Universities can ask about bulk licenses (Typeless for students). On the yearly plan, half price would be $72 a year; Typeless doesn't say whether the discount carries over to renewals.
- Referrals: $5 credits. A friend who signs up through your link gets $5 of Pro credit, and you get $5 once they've dictated 2,000 words. It's for individual plans bought at desktop checkout, not the App Store or Google Play (referral program).
- Gift cards. A Typeless gift card unlocks one year of Pro and never expires (gift cards).
We didn't find a disability, accessibility or nonprofit discount on Typeless's site.
For comparison, LumeVoice gives students and teachers 50% off (email hello@lumevoice.com from a school address, or attach proof of enrollment), and gives 50% off to anyone who finds typing hard because of a disability, injury or health condition, with no proof needed. With the accessibility code, LumeVoice Pro is $7.49 a month or $39.99 a year. See student pricing and the accessibility discount.
Typeless for teams and Enterprise#
Team features come with Pro: member management, usage analytics, and centralized billing and invoices, at the same per-member price, with no minimum number of seats listed. If you remove someone mid-cycle, their seat stays paid until renewal, and unused seats aren't refunded. A team of five on yearly billing pays $720 a year.
Enterprise is priced on request and adds what IT and compliance teams ask for, from single sign-on and SCIM provisioning to audit logs, enforced HIPAA controls and a Business Associate Agreement.
How that compares, as of October 2026: Wispr Flow's Pro plan for teams is also $12 per user per month on annual billing, and its Growth plan adds single sign-on and a signed BAA at $18 per user per month billed annually, a published price where Typeless asks you to contact sales. Aqua Voice's Business plan is $19 per seat per month on annual billing. LumeVoice doesn't sell a team plan.
Comparing Prices? Compare the Writing Too
LumeVoice turns your speech into clean text in whatever app you're using, on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, with one plan for every device.
- Cleanup as you talk: filler words and stutters removed, self-corrections applied, spoken lists turned into lists.
- 100 languages, detected automatically.
- Pricing: $14.99/mo, $79.99/year or $249 once, with 50% off for students and 50% off for accessibility.
- The tradeoff: it needs an internet connection, and there's no Linux app or team plan.
Every new account starts with 3,000 free words, no card required.
Typeless's 3-year cost#
| Typeless plan | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | 3-year total |

| Pro, paid yearly | $144 | $144 | $144 | $432 |

| Pro yearly, team of five | $720 | $720 | $720 | $2,160 |

Typeless prices as of October 2026. The student row assumes the 50% discount applies at every renewal, which Typeless doesn't confirm.
Over three years, monthly billing costs $648 more than yearly billing for the same plan. With no lifetime license, there's no point at which Typeless stops costing money; the yearly plan is simply the cheapest way to keep it.
The fine print#
These details sit in Typeless's terms and help center rather than on the pricing page:
- Refunds. Typeless's terms, last updated August 25, 2026, say refunds are issued only when legally required or under the applicable app store's refund policy.
- Renewals. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Yearly plans get a reminder email before the renewal date.
- Price changes. Typeless may change its fees at renewal, with notice by email or in the app, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Canceling. Use Subscription on the Account page in the Typeless app. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead.
- Discounts are desktop-only. Student codes and referral credits apply at desktop checkout, not to App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
- Dictation length. Each dictation is capped at 9 minutes, with a countdown from the eighth minute (dictation limit).
- Idle free accounts. The terms let Typeless close accounts that have no paid plan and haven't been used for 12 months in a row.

Prices as of October 2026, from each vendor's pricing page; vendors change them, so check before you buy.
On yearly billing, Typeless costs exactly what Wispr Flow does. Month to month, it costs twice as much as Wispr Flow and three times as much as Aqua Voice. Superwhisper is the cheapest of these month to month, and the only one that advertises local models that work offline.
Next to LumeVoice, Typeless is $30 a month against $14.99, and $144 a year against $79.99/year. LumeVoice also sells a one-time license for $249, which Typeless doesn't. Typeless's advantage is the free plan: for light use, it may never cost you anything.
Price isn't the only difference. Typeless runs on Linux and can edit, translate and answer questions by voice; LumeVoice can't. Our LumeVoice vs Typeless comparison covers the features side by side.
Is Typeless worth the money?#
Typeless is good value if you:
- dictate lightly enough that the free plan covers you
- use Linux alongside Mac or Windows
- rely on Ask anything or Translate, both included even on the Free plan
- are equipping a team and want member management at the individual price
- will pay yearly, which brings Pro to $12 a month
Look elsewhere if you:
- want to pay month to month: $30 is twice Wispr Flow's monthly price and three times Aqua Voice's
- want to pay once: Typeless has no lifetime license
- need offline dictation: Typeless needs a connection for every feature
- want a money-back window: Typeless refunds only where the law or an app store requires it
- find typing hard because of a disability and want a discount: LumeVoice gives 50% off
Our list of Typeless alternatives covers each of these cases.
The bottom line#
Typeless's pricing comes down to two numbers: $144 a year, or $30 a month. The yearly plan is competitive and matches Wispr Flow's. The monthly plan is the most expensive way to buy dictation in this comparison. In between sits a free plan that's big enough for light users to never pay at all.
So start free. If you outgrow the weekly limit and you're sure you'll keep going, pay yearly. If you'd rather pay month to month or buy once, compare the alternatives first, and see how Typeless stacks up against its closest rival in Typeless vs Wispr Flow.
